The Secret of A Bamboo Tree

Have you ever seen a bamboo tree during a storm? Even though it can grow as tall as 98 feet and with only about 11-inch diameter, it is one of the strongest trees that can withstand a storm or hurricane. It’s secret is its flexibility and ability to bend and sway as the wind hits, absorbing the storm’s energy but not giving into it.

Many times the storm of life comes when we least expect it. We have our plans and yet sometimes it seems that it never goes the way we hope it would go.  There are moments that the wind of challenges hits us from so many directions that we wonder how we are able to keep standing after the storm has passed.

Maybe we can learn from a bamboo tree. Instead of fighting, we learn to bend in act of surrender, not to the storm, but to the one who holds the power to help us go through the storm and victoriously comes out of it. At times, the more we resist, the bigger the possibility of us breaking. Let us seek wisdom from the Lord and be flexible on what HE is trying to accomplish during this season of difficulties and trials.  Remember that HE is the only one that can turn our pain into healing, tears into joy, scars into testimony, and loss into gain. For only through Jesus Christ we can be redeemed, restored and transformed.

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,” (Ephesians 3:20, NASB)

In Christ,
